Jamie and Stacey both reside in New Bedford and enjoy serving together, traveling when possible, spending time with their children and their two dogs, Ellie and Peanut.  They welcomed their baby boy, Ashton James, on October 3, 2019.

  • Darren fredette

    Finance/barnabas team

    Email darren

Darren has been a member of the leadership team at South Coast since 2013 and has served as an elder since 2016.

Darren joined SCCC in 2010 after returning to the area from Connecticut. A "chance" encounter with Jamie, our associate pastor and one of Darren’s long-time friends, on a golf course led Darren to visit SCCC. Brian’s sermon on Psalm 46:10 in the summer of 2010, resonated with Darren who had just left a twelve year career in corporate finance in the NY metropolitan area. Darren was baptized in 2011 and joined the leadership team two years later.

Darren is the Director of Finance and Development at Packaging Technology Group (PTG) in Fall River and he resides in Marion with his wife Danyelle and their three children, David, Kay, and Charlie.

  • Cathy ortiz

    church administrator/hospitality

    Email cathy

Cathy and her late husband Ernie became a part of the SCCC Family in 2007. After losing Ernie in January 2009, Cathy became even more involved by taking on the responsibilities of Finance Director, Administrative Assistant and Hospitality ministry. Cathy learned the love of Jesus at an early age through the lessons taught and lived by her parents and grandparents. Growing up in a family where faith in Christ and service to the Lord was encouraged it became a natural fit for her to serve the Lord wherever she was needed.

SCCC truly became family to Cathy and Ernie during his illness and after his passing as our SCCC Family surrounded her with the love and support she needed. As a result, even though she moved back to RI to be near her children, she travels several times a week from Coventry to Fairhaven to enjoy the fellowship and love that she has found here.

She has 3 children, 5 grandchildren, and a great grandson. She loves spending time with her two cats, Sadie and Thor while knitting scarves for the homeless or crocheting afghans for friends and family.

  • Jeff and michelle Torres

    Midweek service/Youth Ministry

    Email Jeff & Michelle

Jeff and Michelle have been attending SCCC since 2016 and both serve on our deacon team. They are also part of the midweek service leadership team and have a deep passion for marriage ministry. They find great joy in helping couples to navigate their way through challenging times that they themselves have overcome.

Jeff leads our youth group and co-leads our men's discipleship group, while Michelle helps to co-lead a women's group that meets every other week. They spend a lot of time building Christ-centered relationships with individuals and couples inside and outside of the church.

Jeff and Michelle live in New Bedford, have been married for almost 30 years and love spending time with their two sons, Jacob and Jordan, as well as their grandson, Grayson. They really enjoy Hallmark Christmas movies too, but regardless of what it is they're doing, they love to do it together.
